Just back from a week in Japan. When traveling I like to go back to basics and brought along my old Contax G2 and shot these on black & white film, there will be more later as I still have to scan some of them.

Here is a portrait I shot recently of MS Geok Y Yong, she is Vice President Projects Downstream & Midstream Gas East at Shell. To my surprise she spoke fluent Dutch having previously lived and worked for Shell in Holland.

Above is a series of portraits I shot of Dato’ Kok Wee Kiat Malaysia’s former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry who is still very prominent in the Malaysia business circles and a man full of passion and inspiration and kind enough to take time to share some of his experiences with me. To those who are not familiar with the title ‘Dato’ it is conferred by a hereditary royal ruler of one of the nine Malaysian states in appreciation for the persons achievements in life.

Here are a couple of informal portraits I shot of Dato’ Jaffar Indot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dato’ Jaffar’s held the position of CEO of Shell Oil Company as well as a long list of many other impressive achievements. Here are two portraits I shot of Andrew John Almady who is the electronics control manager at Carrier. Carrier builds large air conditioner systems for skyscrapers such as the Petronas Twin Tower in Kuala Lumpur.

Here is the painting I did of Eugene Cheong the most awarded creative man in Asia from advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather. It was painted on canvas using acrylic paint and its dimensions are 61cm – 61cm. The painting is for sale to the highest bidder and is starting at $5,000. 50% of the proceeds will go to a charity of Eugene’s choice!

Just finished shooting some portraits of a chestnut colored racing horse. I love being around horses and this particular one was a real pleasure to shoot! This is part of an ongoing project so if you like horses be sure to check in once in a while as there will be more soon…
